This box is made from eastern curly Maple with spalted western Big Leaf Maple book-matched top panels. The accents on the top panel and keys are Walnut. It was made with a four corner grain match allowing the grain to flow around the box smoothly. The dimensions are 5 3/4" x 4" x 2" tall. It was finished with a drying oil on the inside and outside. The outside is fininished with shellac using a french polish technique and then buffed out with Caranauba wax. The hinges are a minature barrel type and the box opens to 85°. The liner is a synthetic suede material and will not tarnish silver.
