This box is made from Western Curly Maple and Eastern Quilted Maple with Black Walnut accents. It was made with a four corner grain match allowing the grain to flow around the box smoothly. The outside dimensions are 7 " x 5 " x 4" tall. The inside features a tray that rides on rails and provides one 1/2" deep storage area and one area with ring bars. There is also 1" of storage under the tray. It was finished with a drying oil on the inside and outside, wet sanded to 1000 grit. The outside is finished with shellac using a french polish technique and then buffed out with Caranauba wax. The hinges are a minature barrel type and the box opens to 85°. The liner is a synthetic suede material and will not tarnish silver.
